Milan Remac studied Law at the P.J. Safarik University, Kosice in Slovakia (1998-2003) and International and European Law at the University of Amsterdam (2006-2007).
After his Law studies he worked for the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic. The latter position allowed him to deal with individual complaints against the Slovak Republic before the European Court of Human Rights. Between 2009 and 2013 he was a PhD candidate at the Utrecht University. He prepared a doctoral thesis on interaction between courts and ombudsmen in the development of assessment standards regarding the governmental action. In 2014 he obtained his PhD degree in Constitutional and Administrative Law at Utrecht University. As voluntary work he was Board Member of the foundation Initiatives for Peace & Human Rights (2014).
